Prerequisites: None. General or cultural anthropology preferred, but not

3 hours lecture weekly 
An anthropological exploration of the ethnohistorical development 
of African lifestyles in the New World. Special emphasis will be on 
the African-American in the United States. Fieldwork in the local 
community will be part of the course. (Same as ANTH R114)
